Yesterday was the last Bite of Insight for Winter Quarter and students heard from Carolyn Honeycutt who is the Director of the Ellensburg Downtown Association. As students, you may have heard of this organization before, but maybe not truly understand what Carolyn and her staff do for this town that we currently living in.
The Ellensburg Downtown Association works to preserve and revitalize our beautiful Ellensburg! They do a lot of fundraising events to raise money in order to keep Ellensburg looking its best and they do a lot of public relations work to raise awareness. They also do a lot of work to improve the look of downtown, like the holiday lighting you see and the new street furniture. The EDA also puts together many events downtown like Girls Night Out, First Friday Artwalk, The Buskers Festival, The Farmers Markets, Ellensburg Rodeo Hoedown and Hometown Hollidays!
They can also help you find new shops and restaurants around town, as well as other important things like how to start a business in Ellensburg. And if you are interested in volunteering around town the EDA can help you there as well!
Check out their website, ellensburgdowntown.org, to learn more about how amazing Carolyn and her team at EDA are!
