Power chords, paintings and prevention education are the pieces that make Rock Against Rape what it is, a groundbreaking, awareness-sparking event. Now in its fifth year, Rock Against Rape has become a signature event in Central’s efforts to spread awareness about sexual assault and prevention methods. Come rock out Wednesday, April 24 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Ballroom. This event is free and open to the public.
Rock Against Rape offers education and awareness through a variety of non-traditional programs and activities. This year the event will be hosted by DJ IB Ruschin’ and feature live music, an art battle and interactive information booths. Attendees will receive free pizza, t-shirts and other prizes donated by local businesses.
After its first year in 2009, Rock Against Rape won the Program of the Year award at the Pacific Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (PACURH) national conference.
