Anthony Robles will be speaking tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the SURC Ballroom. Tickets are free and available at www.cwu.edu/tickets.
College wrestling isn’t the most publicized sport, but the nation was watching two years ago when Robles took home the 125-pound Individual Championship, despite being born with only one leg. The national title was the culmination of his wrestling career, where he was a three-time All American at Arizona State, and launched him into “cult-hero” status among sports fans.
Robles’ accomplishments on the mat have earned him a job as a wrestling analyst at ESPN and a spot in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. He has also written a book chronicling his unlikely rise to the pinnacle of American wrestling. “Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated” is Robles’ inspiring story, in his own words. Robles will be signing copies of his book after the event, which will be available for purchase.
Don’t miss Robles share high and low points—both on and off the mat—he encountered on his quest to become a national champion.
