CWU students seeking an evening of outdoor fun with a unique challenge should attend the Race for the Cache geocaching competition tonight from 5 to 7 p.m., beginning at the SURC West Patio.
Grab a few friends and form teams of two to six to compete in this race where GPS coordinates will lead to secret locations with various activities for teams to complete. The event is free, and each team need only bring one smartphone or GPS devices will be available on loan from Campus Activities.
As an outdoor recreational activity, geocaching is on the rise, becoming known as treasure hunting for the real world. Geocachers use GPS to locate caches hidden by others, which can be anything from a logbook to sign as proof of a find to a compilation of tiny treasures.
So get ready to either show off your skills or learn a new hobby among your fellow geocaching Wildcats!
