To support victims of abuse, runners of all skill levels can participate in the CWU Wellness Center’s Route to Hope 5K. Through partnering with the CWU Wellness Center, Abuse Support and Prevention Education Now (ASPEN) will receive all proceeds from the 5K. ASPEN is a non-profit program of Central Washington Comprehensive Mental Health, and provides confidential services and aid to victims of abuse, sexual assault and other forms of oppression. Check in begins at 8 a.m. and the race will take off at 9:30 a.m. from the CWU Welcome Center located on the corner of University Way and Pearl Street. Participants can register at the CWU Recreation Center front desk, and registration fees are $15 for CWU students and $20 for general admission. Through participants’ generosity and the Wellness Center’s dedication, over the last two years the Route to Hope 5K has raised over $2,600 for ASPEN.
Participants of the Route to Hope 5K will not only be able to enjoy a Saturday in the sun, but they will also provide valuable support to those in need. Don’t miss the opportunity to help ASPEN continue to encourage hope and health.
