If you were unable to join the festivity then you missed out on an unforgettable night full of savings, students, and free corn-dogs. Oh, and luffas. Tuesday, Sept. 23 was an important day not only for freshman new to Central, but to students all across campus. Bi-Mart and Fred Meyer kick-off every school year with an evening of entertainment and discounts for Central students. The event is usually well received and bolsters solid attendance. This year was no exception.
The line snaked completely around the building and never seemed to end. Even 30-minutes after the doors had opened at 11 p.m., the rush of students stayed impressively constant. Parking was nearly impossible to find but nobody seemed to mind. How could you when there’s free energy drinks and screeching guitars to soothe away your worries? In spectacular fashion a multitude of clubs and organizations attended to spread awareness and just have a good time. From Zipcar to 88.1 The Burg, students were treated to a wide variety of information to process as they bee lined towards the cheapest T.V. All in all, it was great fun and there were plenty of smiles to go around.
Sadly, it seems to come and go too quickly and while it happens every year, it never quite seems enough after the night comes to a close. If you missed it and wish to attend next year then mark it in your calendar the day before classes begin for the year. Make sure to plan ahead and carpool if necessary.
