The Publicity Center offers a full slate of creative services to promote campus events, programs and departments while providing real world experience to student employees through hands-on skill development, professional mentoring and portfolio development.

Our student-focused Hype team invites students to experience campus life through a variety of student-focused “Hype” platforms including publications, social media, and street team opportunities.

Holy Homecoming! A week’s worth of events.

It’s that time of the year again. Leaves falling, sweaters draping, pumpkin spice lattes flowing – basically, the best time of the year. Oh, and maybe a little something you may have heard about….Fall Homecoming!

CWU has a slue of events planned for Homecoming including a performance by special guest and american idol fame, Phillip Phillips. Get ready, get pumped, and get out there!

MONDAY, Oct. 13

Celebrate YOUR Student Union and Recreation Center

Get the inside scoop on the updates and improvements to the SURC! There will be a celebration with tours, treats and more.

Wildcat Photo Project Begins

Ready, set, shoot! What does Wildcat Spirit mean? Take photos during Homecoming Week and post to CWUHype Facebook. Don’t forget to tag #wildcatphotoproject to be entered into a drawing for prizes!

Spirit Splash Competition Entry Deadline • 5 p.m.

The SURC will become Homecoming headquarters as the variety of offices and centers get decked out in crimson and black for the decorating contest. Judges will pick winners on Wednesday, so all entries must be completed by 5 p.m.

Best of the best talent winners from each residence hall will battle for the coveted titles in this long-standing Homecoming Week tradition!

WEDNESDAY, Oct. 15

Spirit Splash Competition Judging

Whose decorative display will come out on top? Judges will be making the rounds to determine winning entries.

Wellington’s Wildfire

7 – 9 p.m. • Alder Street Rec. Complex • Free for CWU students

Gather around the bonfire to celebrate CWU Homecoming with Challenge Course activities, games and contests. 88.1 The ‘Burg will provide music as you enjoy a delicious BBQ and hang out with Wildcat athletes, cheerleaders and the band!

All Wildcats can dance the night away to some of the best music around provided by 88.1 The Burg. This event is for all CWU students, alumni and guests to enjoy.

SATURDAY, Oct. 18

CWU Fall Open House

7:30 a.m. – noon • SURC and other campus buildings • Free

Future Wildcats will be on campus to check out all that Central has to offer. CWU will roll out the crimson carpet with tours, presentations and a rally at the SURC before heading up to the game!

Homecoming Hike

All day • Sign up at OPR • $25

Join the OPR trip leaders on a hiking adventure to Lake Stuart. Experience serenity and breathtaking views, as well as some great company along the way. Price includes equipment and transportation costs.

Wildcat Color 5k

Don’t miss this performance from “American Idol” season 11 winner and multi-platinum artist Phillip Phillips. Attendees are sure to recognize Phillips’ smash hits “Home” and “Gone, Gone, Gone.” Portland native singer/songwriter Christian Burghardt will open the show.
