Idol Star Brings Homecoming Week to an End

American Idol star, Phillip Phillips and opener Christian Burghardt blew the crowd away on Saturday evening with their amazing performances. 26 year old singer/songwriter Christian Burghardt is described by professionals in the music industry as having a “diamond in the rough type of talent with limitless potential”. He performed a handful of songs from his new EP Safe Place to Land, telling the crowd of his inspirations for the single itself as well as the rest of the EP. He told us that he was dealing with a pretty hard break up, he said, “We dated for a long time, I was going to marry her”. But with his music career taking off and all of the traveling, it just didn’t work out. Before performing his last song for the night, his new single, Safe Place to Land, he told the crowd, “Safe Place to Land was my attempt to tell her ‘I’m always going to be the guy you can depend on when things go wrong.'” You could really see and hear the emotions not only in his performance, but all through the crowd during that last song. He was and is an amazing artist that has tons and tons of talent, check out his newest EP Safe Place to Land, you won’t regret it.

Phillip Phillips performed Alive for the opening song and that could not better describe the way the crowd was feeling once he hit that stage! The winner of American Idol’s 11th season has toured with artists such as Matchbox 20 and John Mayer and is getting ready to co-headline a summer tour with O.A.R. Phillips performed songs from his newest album, Behind the Light, but did not let his fans leave without hearing him perform what is said to be one of his most popular songs, Home, during his encore. Home is marked as the most successful coronation of song of any American Idol winner, as well as the highest-ever debut on the Billboard Digital songs chart with 278,000 downloads sold. Phillip Phillips really blew the crowd away and left them all wanting more!
