Central’s very own KCWU-FM 88.1 The ‘Burg has recently been selected as a finalist in 10 different categories for the 2015 Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) Golden Mic Awards, including Best College Station in the “Over 10,000 Students” category.
Every year the IBS hosts a national conference in New York City where the Golden Mic Awards are presented. These awards give an opportunity to recognize college media outlets around the country by highlighting the great amount of work that the students and staff produce. This year’s winners will be announced at the 75th annual International IBS Conference March 6th through the 8th, and yes, representatives from KCWU-FM 88.1 The ‘Burg will be making the trip across the country to be there!
This year IBS saw four times the amount of entered material for the Golden Mic Awards, and from that HUGE national pool, KCWU-FM 88.1 the ‘Burg has been selected as a finalist in the following 10 categories:

Best College Radio Station (With More Than 10,000 Students Enrolled): KCWU Radio at Central Washington University, Ellensburg, WA
Other college radio stations nominated are KKJZ at California State University in Long Beach, California, WERG at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania, KBVR at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon (last years winner), and WNYU at New York University in New York.
