The holidays are a time filled with friends, family, and gifts. It can be hard to find the right gift for every person in your life. With my fascination for the Zodiac Signs, I decided to compile a list of the best gifts for each sign!
These are based off my research in reading the book, “The Secret Language of Birthdays” by Gary Goldschneider and Joost Elffers.
Many of the gifts listed are affordable for the every-day-college-student!
Aries
March 21 – April 20
Aries are always exploring and willing to learn. The Aries person stresses learning to do things for oneself and moving towards autonomy. Give your Aries a new skill to learn by gifting them an instructional book (for example, a book on how to do Origami). Another activity they can do with their hands is making or painting pottery; getting them a gift certificate for something like this is suggested.
Colors: All shades of Red
Taurus
April 21 – May 21
Taureans generally develop the capacity to carefully map out a strategy and wait for the right moment to implement their plan. However, they do run the danger of procrastinating! Help your Taurean to organize their plans with a nice planner or with organizational items. Taureans like to be part of a team but must retain a large measure of autonomy. Like suggested for a Libra, take your Taurus out to a trivia night at a local eatery.
Colors: Deep Green, all shades of Blue
Gemini
May 22 – June 21
Every Gemini has two sides to them and usually have nervous energy to burn. With any gift you decide to give your Gemini, give them options or give them the best of both worlds. Help them burn their nervous energy by giving an active Gemini a gift certificate to Zumba or Rock Climbing Classes. For the more introverted Gemini, help them with their nervous energy by signing them up for a yoga class or massage.
Colors: Yellow, Light Green, Teal
Cancer
June 22 – July 22
The Cancer person has a hard outer shell with a soft, sensitive inside. It is important for this person to know how you feel. Try and reach the emotional inside of your Cancer by giving them a meaningful gift, like something handmade (check out the handmade gifts at Ware Fair on campus starting Nov. 30). A quiet evening alone with close friends can be an ecstatic experience for those born under this sign.
Colors: Cream, White, Pastel Colors
Leo
July 23 – August 23
For Leos, sometimes receiving gifts from others can be difficult. The best way to give a Leo a gift is to surprise them! Surprise your Leo with a fancy dinner followed by going out dancing. Leos love being admired for their physical appearance and might spend a lot of time in the gym or in front of the mirror. Give your Leo a physical outlet by gifting them a gift certificate to a group fitness class like Zumba.
Colors: Ocher, Golden hues
Virgo
August 24 – September 22
A Virgo is not so much a dreamy person but one taken up with analyzing, solving, and assessing. Give your Virgo the chance to problem solve by gifting them a Puzzle Book (Sudoku, Crossword, Where’s Waldo, etc.) Virgos also tend to focus on planning and working towards their goals. Gift your Virgo a ticket to a “escape room” event; this is a great way to spend time with them and let them solve a puzzle.
Colors: Silver, Dark Violet, Indigo
Libra
September 23 – October 22
Since Libras need to see both sides of a problem and examine every aspect of it, they are capable of procrastinating! A suggestion is to not give your Libra money or a gift card because they have a tough time making a decision. Because of this, giving an indecisive Libra a ‘Magic 8 Ball’ would be a funny and light-hearted gift. Of all the signs, Libras like most to be right. Give your Libra the opportunity to benefit from being right by taking them out to a night of trivia at a local eatery.
Colors: Primary Colors, Pink, Night Blue
Scorpio
October 23 – November 21
Scorpios carry an instinctive understanding of the high seriousness and tragic nature of life. On the other hand, they usually have a great sense of humor. Take your Scorpio to a comedy show and share a great time of laughter together! Like Aquarians, Scorpios would also enjoy a gift card or money so that they decide how to spend their gift.

Sagittarius
November 22 – December 21
The Sagittarian loves movement and travel, and is particularly interested in nature and animals. Buy your Sagittarian active gear or invite them to go camping/hiking. Along with being active, Sagittarians are eternal students, constantly seeking to know more about the world. To feed their zest for knowledge, give your Sagittarian a gift card to a local bookstore.

Capricorn
December 22 – January 20
Capricorns do not particularly care how long it takes to achieve their goals; they believe in working slowly and carefully, and rarely give up. Capricorns can often get caught up in their work; to help them wind-down, give them a stress relieving coloring book with colored pens or pencils. Or give them an Amazon gift card so that they don’t have to take time out of their day to go to the store to buy supplies for their latest project.

Aquarius
January 21 – February 19
Aquarians should be given as much latitude as possible to exercise their imaginative powers and placed under as few restrictions as possible. Help the Aquarian in your life express their artistic side by giving them craft supplies. A safe-bet for any Aquarian is a gift card or money so that they have the freedom to choose how they spend their gift.
Colors: Electric Blue, Silver Gray, fluorescent colors
Pisces
February 20 – March 20
Pisces are very sensitive and have great empathy for others. Donating in their name to the cause they are most passionate about shows that you really care. In addition, the Pisces person cares greatly for their relationships with friends, family, and partners and enjoy sharing material items with them. The best gift for Pisces would be something you can share; like matching mugs.
