Snow or no snow, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the season. Discover how you can shop for the holidays, make lasting memories, and give back on campus this year.
Shop for the Holidays
Browse the best of the PNW gift scene at the 43rd Annual Ware Fair, held in the SURC from Nov. 29 through Dec. 1. This juried arts and crafts festival features over 30 unique vendors, live music, treats and more.
Also held Nov. 29 through Dec. 1 is the Holiday Art Sale, hosted by CWU’s Department of Art and Design. Students have submitted their best work into this sale, meaning that you can select a truly original piece of local art.
Make Lasting Memories
Celebrate the season and learn to sign your favorite holiday songs at the Winter Signing Extravaganza hosted by the CWU American Sign Language club! This interactive and welcoming event will feature music, activities, snacks and more on Nov. 28.
#OptOutside while staying warm inside, and head to the Banff Film Festival on Nov. 29. This annually touring festival is making a special stop at CWU, and features stunning landscapes and stories of outdoor adventures.
Get a taste of Broadway right here at CWU at the Red Curtain Broadway Revue! Central Theatre Ensemble members will be performing musical hits, including Frozen’s “Love is an Open Door,” The Greatest Showman’s “A Million Dreams,” and Michael Jackson’s “Blame it on the Boogie.”

On Dec. 1, families are invited to celebrate the season at the annual Holiday Extravaganza. Over 30 craft and activity stations will fill the SURC, and all crafts and snacks are free (geared towards elementary school-age children). Between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., kiddos can even get a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus!
Celebrate Christmas with the Gothard Sisters on Dec. 7 at the McIntyre Music Hall. This special holiday program features Celtic tunes and songs, as well as unique arrangements of Christmas carols old and new. Bring the family down for live music, step-dancing, special guests and even a surprise or two!

Give Back to the Community
Get fit and give back, all in one day. On Nov. 29, join the CWU Recreation Center and Presidents United to Solve Hunger at the PUSH Fitness Food Drive. For one day, you can gain entry to any Group X class with the donation of 3 non-perishable goods! Must be a Recreation Center member to participate.
If you’re searching for one more way to give back, then stop by the CLCE’s Giving Tree, located in the SURC. There are less than 80 tags available, so hurry by! You can return your gift donations to the CLCE office (SURC 256) by Friday, Nov. 30.
