Joel McHale Comedy Show Ticket Giveaway!
“Community” star Joel McHale will be coming to Central Washington University as the culminating event of Homecoming Week. The event will be in the SURC Ballroom at 8 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2019.
This year the Publicity Center and CWU Hype will be doing TWO giveaways for a pair of free tickets to the show, as well as VIP access to the Meet and Greet with Joel McHale. You must be a current CWU student to enter. If you win, pick your favorite friend to go with you.
The First Giveaway:
The first giveaway will take place on the @cwuhype Instagram. The giveaway will take place using the Instagram Stories feature on October 3, 2019 and October 4, 2019.
To enter the giveaway you must follow these rules and stipulations:
- You must be following the CWU Hype Instagram @cwuhype to be entered in the giveaway.
- You must reply to the proper CWU Hype giveaway story with your best and/or favorite joke!
- Jokes must be appropriate and must not offend anyone. If your joke breaks this rule you will be automatically disqualified. This means no profanity or offensive terms and language.
- You must reply within the 24-hour frame that the story is up, no exceptions, and we will not accept late jokes.
After the story has been removed from Instagram, one of our HYPE employees will create a master list of all entered jokes and Instagram stories that will be posted in the CWU Publicity Center. From there, all staff in the Publicity Center will vote on the winning joke for 24 hours.
After the joke is chosen by our staff we will post the winning joke and Instagram story on Instagram. If you are the chosen winner you will have 24 hours to reply to the story and come to the Publicity Center in SURC 272 to obtain your free tickets. You must bring your Student ID and your Instagram as proof that you have won. If you do not come to pick up the tickets they will be given to another contestant.
The Second Giveaway:
The Second Giveaway will take place out on the SURC East Patio from 12-2 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019. The CWU Hype Street Team will be out in this location with slips of paper and a raffle box.
To enter students must:
- Show us your best dance move or tell us your favorite joke.
- Write your full name, phone number, and school email on one of the slips.
- Put this into the raffle bowl at the CWU Hype Table
The Second Giveaway will act as a raffle. No purchase necessary to enter, but you must be a current CWU student to enter. The CWU Hype team will mix up the bowl of raffle slips and choose one at random. This person will be notified through text, call, and email that they have won the giveaway. We will also post the winner on the CWU Hype Instagram story.
If you have been chosen as the Second Giveaway winner you must reply to one of the forms of communication accepting your tickets or come into the Publicity Center in SURC 272 to accept your tickets verbally.
To receive your free ticket and VIP Meet and Greet Pass you will give your name to one of the CWU Hype Members at the door of the event and show your CWU ID to confirm.

Acceptance of prize offered constitutes permission for Hype to use winner’s name, Instagram story, biographical information and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation in all media now known or hereafter discovered worldwide and on the Internet without notice or review or approval as permitted by law.
By accepting a prize, winner agrees to release and hold CWU Publicity Center/ CWU Hype harmless from all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind resulting from acceptance, possession or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injuries, an unhealthy obsession, death and property damage. By participating in this Sweepstakes, participant agrees to be bound by all the Official Rules of this Sweepstakes.
By accepting a prize, winner agrees to pick up said prize from CWU Publicity Center, SURC 272 during regular business hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday on or before Friday, Oct. 11, 2019.
