What to Watch This Spring Break

By Wyatt Langstraat

What strange times that we live in. Over the course of the last two weeks, COVID-19 has gone from something overseas that we were aware of to a virus that has completely changed the way that we live.

So, now that we have an extended spring break, for better or for worse, we need entertainment to fill this down time before we start back up with online classes.

Frozen 2 is up on Disney Plus! The movie was not supposed to be released until July, but Disney decided to move up the streaming release date in light of the current situation. Join Elsa and Anna on another adventure as they head beyond Arendelle to discover the truth about their pasts.

A 90s classic has been added to Netflix! Space Jam! The animated-live action crossover classic featuring Bugs Bunny and Michael Jordan should help tide over disappointed basketball fans while they wait for the season to be reinstated.

If you’re in the mood for an unconventional rom-com, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper have got you covered in Silver Linings Playbook. This 2012 Academy Award winning movie is now streaming on Netflix.

In terms of disaster movies, there are none more disastrous than 2012. So while you’re shut in from the COVID-19 outbreak, why not remind yourself that things could definitely get a lot worse.

The Shawshank Redemption is now on Netflix. When Andy Dufresne is sent to Shawshank Prison for the murder of his wife and her lover, he befriends Red. Between the two of them, they find redemption for themselves and others through common acts of decency.
