There’s plenty of virtual things to do online while you stay home and adhere to the social distancing recommendations. A number of symphonies, operas, and museums are putting their performances and exhibits online. Check out the links below for Hype’s recommendations.
Metropolitan Opera
The Met announced they will live stream a selection of operas during the course of the closures. Each opera will be available to stream for free for 20 hours. Check out this link for a full schedule of performances.
Seattle Symphony
In order “to share strength, comfort and unity,” the Seattle Symphony will be broadcasting prerecorded performances on their Youtube channel. Check out their website for full schedule.
New England Aquarium Virtual Visit
The staff at Boston’s New England Aquarium is letting the public in on the day-to-day life of its water-loving residents. Everyday at 11 a.m., they go live on Facebook with a new aquatic guest.
Gallery One Ellensburg
Our own Gallery One here in Ellensburg is highlighting their online exhibits on their Facebook. They are also displaying artwork in their windows if you are in the area and fancy a walk downtown.

CWU Professor Nick Zentner is hosting free geology lectures from his front yard. Subscribe to his YouTube channel to watch his “Nick from Home” livestreams.
National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.
The National Gallery of Art has two online exhibits through Google. The first features American fashion between 1740 and 1895, and the second consists of a collection of works from Dutch Baroque painter Johannes Vermeer.
