Looking for a way to get involved on campus and build your leadership skills? The Diversity & Equity Center (DEC) and Center for Leadership & Community Engagement (CLCE) offer four distinct mentoring programs that are designed to help first-year and transfer students connect to campus, explore their identities, and expand their leadership potential. Apply to be a mentor by September 11th to take advantage of this opportunity.
Mentees will have the chance to lead a group of 3-5 mentees in the following cohorts: Q*Fam, THRIVE, Brother to Brother, or Chavez-King Leadership Institute. As a mentor, you will be assigned a group of mentees to support throughout the academic year. Support can range from attending relevant trainings, connecting with mentees and working with professional staff to provide relevant workshops, outings, and activities. These activities will be aimed at promoting identity development and a sense of belonging.
Q*Fam – An LGBTQ+ community program
THRIVE – A women of color empowerment program
Brother to Brother – A men’s empowerment program
Chavez-King Leadership Institute – A social justice & advocacy program
