How to write a CV word bubble with steps word bubble

If interviews fill you with dread or the task of writing a cover letter leaves you staring cluelessly at a blank Word document, have no fear because Career Services is here to help. The list of virtual events and workshops being offered this quarter is a long one, but we’ve compiled all the best opportunities into a digestible sneak peak, so read on.

Workshops

Have you been meaning to spruce up your resume? Career Services has a workshop for that. At a resume workshop, you can find out how to format a resume and learn what to include to make it work for you.

Does your LinkedIn profile need some extra help? Well, there just happen to be a few little functions on October 21st and November 5th that’ll teach you the ins and outs of of the professional platform.

Whatever you need help with, Career Services probably has an online workshop that caters to what you’re looking for. Check out the list of fall workshops and events here.

Career Fairs

After attending a few workshops, you should feel confident and prepared to show off some new skills and a great resume at one of the multiple career fairs being offered this quarter.

On October 2nd, accounting students can check out the Virtual Accounting Career Event (ACE). This is the College of Business’ premier recruiting event for accounting students looking for internships and full-time positions.

Then, on October 8th, there will be a Virtual Engineering Technologies, Safety, and Construction Fair. During this virtual event, meet employers in your field who are recruiting students and alumni for an array of internships and professional positions.

Finally, on October 22nd, there will be a Virtual Fall Career, Internship, & Grad School Fair. This event is perfect for all majors and undeclared students who are seeking job, internship, and graduate school opportunities.

All of the above events will be held online via Career Fair Plus and are open to all CWU students, alumni, faculty, and staff.

More Resources

Aside from all the virtual events, there are even more resources that you can take advantage of anytime you need. For undeclared students wondering what path they should take, Career Services provides links to multiple career assessments on their website. If you still need some guidance after utilizing these tools, book an appointment with an experienced career counselor. They can help you identify your strengths, set new goals and figure out what career may be a good fit.

If you have a job interview on the horizon, but need help dressing to impress, check out the CWU Professional Clothing Closet. Available to all current CWU students and alumni, items you may find in the closet include suits, skirts, pants, suit jackets, ties, belts, dresses, and shoes.

The events, workshops and resources listed here are by no means comprehensive of everything Career Services offers to help you achieve your professional goals. Visit their website to check out a list of all the virtual events happening this fall and more!
