Winter quarter can be difficult on students (and HYPE writers). It’s too cold to spend time outside, but you don’t want to spend months holed up in your room. You know what could make this winter quarter better? Gaming at CWU!
CWU has a ton of campus events that are free for CWU Students, and I’m here to tell you all about them.
FRIDAY – February 11th
Compete in the E-Sports Mario Kart Deluxe Tournament! Bring friends to compete or watch this exciting event. The tournament starts at 7 p.m. Register early on the Recreation Portal.

TUESDAY- February 15th
Do phone games bring out your competitive streak? (If you see a purple-haired girl yelling at her phone, please ignore it) Compete in Jackbox games at 8 p.m. in the SURC Pit. Bring a mobile device and the will to win!

FRIDAY – February 25th
Game time! Whether you missed out on the Mario Kart Tournament, or you just want another chance to win, compete in the E-Sports COD: Modern Warfare Tournament! Once again, register on the Recreation Portal and be at the SURC Theatre by 7 p.m.
WEDNESDAY – March 2nd
Enjoy some friendly competition at Geek Out Game Out! Play board games, video games, and even try your luck at virtual reality. GOGO starts at 8 p.m. in the SURC Pit.

All these events (and more!) can be found on the CWU Calendar. Have fun, game on, and don’t forget to wear your masks. Have an amazing winter, Wildcats!
